GetResponse Added RSS to Email Feature

Few months back I reviewed Getresponse which is one of the top Email marketing software for Bloggers and internet marketers. In the review, I mentioned one big feature which I missed in Getresponse is automation via RSS Feed. Especially for a Blogger, it’s very important that your Email subscribers should be getting all new updates from your blog. This may not apply if you publish multiple posts a day, but if you are one of those bloggers who publish 1 post in 1-2 day, you should make sure, that your Email subscriber should not miss any update from your blog.

GetResponse RSS to Email Feature Overview:

This new RSS to Email newsletter feature in Getresponse is better than Aweber or Mailchimp due to added feature of customization. Before I will show you how to configure this feature, here is a quick video demo, which will give you an idea of how it works:

Login to your Getresponse account and click on RSS basic setting page or directly access by using this link. Now, add your Feed URL and if you have not yet burned your RSS feed using Feedburner, here is a quick guide on how to setup Feedburner. Once you have added RSS feed URL, next step is to configure the frequency. Now this depends upon how often you publish articles on your blog. If you publish one article a day, you can select the first option “Every time a new RSS article is posted”, or if you offer weekly digest, you can set weekly or monthly digest according to your preference.

According to me, the weekly digest is more efficient than daily digest, as it lowers down the number of emails from your brand. Now, next you need to configure the Title of the Email, and I recommend you to use your brand name in the title. For example ShoutMeLoud Weekly Update, ShoutMeLoud top posts of the week or anything which increases the CTR of Email. Getresponse RSS to Email newsletter feature also let you share your newsletter link to Twitter and Facebook, which will help you to drive extra traffic. Once, you are done with this setup part, click on next step and now you need to select from pre-defined Email templates for your daily Email newsletter.

Select the template and you can also change the color tone by selecting the color option below any Email template. Now, with template customization feature of Get response, you can quickly design your template. You can quickly define the size of text and image blocks, add new blocks and do many other things. The best part is, you don’t need to be a coder or a designer to do all this thing.

Get response offers 30 days free trial which is a perfect way to get started with your first Email marketing tool. Though I’m not a big fan of automated RSS to Email newsletter as it may lead to lower down the effectiveness of your Email marketing, but with the kind of pre-designed Email template offered by Getresponse; I’m sure none of your Email subscriber will find your RSS newsletter boring.
